Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your BedTime Stories account at any time. Account deletion removes your personal data from our active systems and cannot be undone. Please read this page carefully before proceeding, then follow one of the methods below.

Method 1 — Delete from inside the app

The fastest way is to delete your account directly from your profile. This requires email verification so we know it's really you.

  1. 1Sign in to BedTime Stories at bestkids.app/auth/login (or inside the mobile app).
  2. 2Tap Profile, then open Settings.
  3. 3Scroll to the Danger Zone section and tap Delete Account.
  4. 4We'll email you a 6-digit verification code. Enter it to confirm, and your account is permanently deleted.

Method 2 — Email us to request deletion

If you can't access your account (lost password, lost email access, or other issue), send us a deletion request from the email address associated with your account. Include:

  • The email address you used to sign up
  • Your name as it appears on the account (if you remember)
  • The subject line: Delete my BedTime Stories account

We'll confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with applicable privacy laws.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our production systems:

  • Your profile information (name, email, avatar, age preference)
  • Your saved favourite stories
  • Your listening progress and "Continue listening" history
  • Your in-app settings and preferences
  • Your authentication credentials (you'll be signed out everywhere)

What we may retain (and why)

In some cases, we may retain a limited subset of data after deletion. This is either required by law or necessary to protect our platform:

  • Aggregate / anonymised analytics — data that can no longer be linked to you personally (e.g. total listen-time across all users).
  • Transactional records — if you ever made a payment, we may keep invoice records for the period required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
  • Abuse / safety data — in the rare case an account was flagged for abuse or violation of our Terms, minimal records may be retained to enforce our policies.
  • Backups — encrypted backups automatically roll off within 30 days of deletion; we don't restore deleted accounts from these backups.

This cannot be undone

Account deletion is immediate and permanent. Once complete, we cannot restore your stories, favourites, or progress — even if you sign up again with the same email.
